Job Summary

In this position, the ideal candidate will assist with processing a multi-state payroll; create, maintain and run reports; and audit garnishment processing.  This person will also be involved with payroll tax, year-end tasks, and special tasks as needed.

 

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Process weekly multi-state payroll for Exempt and Non-Exempt employees.
  • Create and maintain Payroll reporting with multiple reporting tools, including ADP Reporting, PeopleSoft Query, and other tools as needed, such as SQL Developer.  Includes ongoing weekly, monthly, and annual reports, as well as steady ad-hoc requests for users across the organization and for all levels of management.
  • Support and troubleshoot reporting issues and ensure timely, accurate distribution of information.
  • Perform other payroll, tax, or accounting work and analyses as needed.
  • Review daily and weekly garnishment reports from ADP. Audit garnishment processing and resolve issues that arise.  Answer calls/letters from garnishment agencies.
  • Reconcile wage garnishment accounting and weekly/monthly invoices.
  • Support legal compliance, as needed, for garnishments, taxes, and records retention through research and by partnering with subject matter experts in department and with payroll vendor.
  • Assist with year-end tasks and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Management, Finance, Accounting or Equivalent Related Experience
  • At least 1 year in a Finance, Payroll or HR environment. Prefer experience in a large company with multiple locations, states, localities.
  • Reporting and analytical skills preferred. SQL and Access familiarity a plus.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent Organizational skills.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Garnishment Knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of ADP or PeopleSoft a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
