As an intern you would report to a VP or above and be assigned a mentor that will help you navigate the day to day operations 

 

The Finance Intern will be a key contributor to Corporate Financial and Managerial accounting organizations rotating between departments. Successful applicants will be exposed to the many facets of the Finance organization and specific job assignments will vary based on overall need across the different functional areas. These may include gross margin reporting, sales audit, physical inventory, fuel, import, and financial accounting, lease and associate common area maintenance (CAM) expense reviews and assist with systems testing and implementation. The internship is designed for finance and accounting undergraduates who have a strong interest in accounting. Specific job functions and projects for the Finance Intern will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monthly/quarterly financial and/or gross profit reporting analysis.
  • Assist with implementation of new software in sales audit and learn how retail sales are balanced
  • Perform physical inventory observations
  • Assist with fuel accounting processes
  • Document and identify areas for process improvement opportunities
  • Perform industry analyses to educate the organization of best practices.

Requirements:

  • GPA of 3.4 or above
  • Preferred major and graduation year, competencies and experience designated by the business.
  • Leadership experience in programs, projects, clubs-preferred
  • Experience with SAP is a plus and some exposure to previous accounting work.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS office, and Data Analysis
  • Have attention to detail and problem solving
