The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for approximately 25,000 team members.  This person will supervise a staff of 2 or more, and as a team perform/monitor all the weekly payroll processes including: profile updates into Peoplesoft, creating a multitude of import files for ADP,  reviewing/auditing final payroll files and initiating pay advices and the weekly funding. 

 

The Payroll Supervisor works closely with the Human Resources department to ensure that payroll actions are in conformance with Company policies, employment and benefits practices, accounting procedures, and all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. This position is responsible for the processing of off cycle adjustments for home office payments including but not limited to: sign on bonus, financial planning, relocation bonus and other compensated bonuses. This position is responsible for the reconciliation of payroll accounts, which includes month end processing, balance sheet reconciliation and manual journal entries.  In addition, this person is responsible for:

 

  • Supervise the activities of the Payroll team to ensure all payroll activities are performed according to Company policies.
  • Ensure all PeopleSoft profiles and paperwork is keyed timely for each payroll.
  • Review and approve payroll adjustments as needed and answer any questions from the staff or the field
  • Oversee the calculation and process of all off-cycle payroll requirements, including termination checks, manual checks and petty cash.
  • Manage the processing of all transactions in ADP that require special handling, including leave of absence continuation pay, retroactive corrections, special deductions, one-time payments and imputed income.
  • Perform audits of payroll detail for accuracy and ensure compliance with quality assurance measures and maintain procedural manuals.
  • Ensure that the payroll department responds to questions from team members, clubs and outside agencies in a timely manner.
  • Research and resolve issues/concerns that arise in the areas of payroll, timekeeping and HR master data.
  • Oversee the escheatment process ensuring all attempts are made with reissuing checks prior to being placed into Abandon Property.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1-3 years of payroll experience, preferably multi-state experience
  • Peoplesoft and ADP Payforce knowledge  
  • Must be professional, organized, have strong communication and customer service skills and be team oriented
  • Strong problem-solving ability, detail oriented, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
