Reporting to the SVP Internal Audit & Asset Protection, the Vice President Asset Protection is primarily responsible for overseeing and validating all corporate Asset Protection, security, and theft reduction procedures within the field and home office. The VP, Asset Protection interacts continuously with the Asset Protection Directors, Regional Asset Protection Managers and Club management to talk through issues related to protecting company’s assets, mitigating theft and conducting investigations. The VP, Asset Protection partners with business owners throughout the Field and Home Office to identify opportunities to reduce shrink, streamline processes and recommend potential solutions. This role is a subject matter expert in all asset protection-related technical skills, including CCTV, alarms, POS and Refund analytics, investigations and case management. 


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Reduce corporate liability by setting the direction for programs aimed to protect company assets
  • Partner with teams throughout the field and home office to administer and elevate asset protection programs
  • Coach and lead the Home Office and Field asset protection teams to achieve strategic priorities  
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on developing shrink strategies, assessing high risk areas, and addressing team member incidents
  • Analyze SAP data and work to pinpoint root cause operational issues and provide recommendations to address gaps
  • Investigate internal/external theft, fraud, and organized retail crime cases; communicate results and closeout cases thoroughly and timely
  • Gather data, perform interviews and follow-up on preventative measures as workplace violence incidents occur
  • Develop strategic partnerships with vendors to maintain the security of our buildings, including cameras, alarms and security details
  • Lead the incident management team during severe weather events and other crisis situations occurring in our footprint
  • Support company initiatives and strategic priorities by providing guidance based on industry best practices as it relates to Asset Protection



  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Criminal Justice or Business Management
  • 10+ years of multi-site Loss Prevention/Asset Protection experience (retail is preferred)
  • Experience leading, developing and managing remote teams
  • Previous experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
  • Understanding of retail profitability, and the ability to analyze data, identify trends and provide solutions to reduce shrink
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build partnerships and communicate to internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices related to criminal charges and their applicability to internal and external cases
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, detailed oriented and coordination of multiple priorities in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Overnight travel
